itch

It's official. I have it.

Every year, around this time, I feel a very strong, undeniable itch. An itch to get out and go somewhere warm. I survived the winter and I need a reward, dangit!

Winter for me goes something like this:

November (yes, it really does start that early): OMG! Yay! Winter is almost here! It's so pretty!

December: Snow! Christmas! Pretty! Ski vacation! The snow is SO PRETTY!

January: I'm back from vacation. The snow is still kind of pretty. But, it's really cold. And, I'm sick of shoveling. And, it's only January.

February: This sucks. It's cold. It's snowy. Why can't it be summer? I just want to run outside. Is that too much to ask?

March: THIS REALLY SUCKS. It's supposed to be SPRING. Why is it still so freaking cold out? I'm so over this crap! I hate everyone I know who is going on or talking about their warm weather vacations while I'm stuck here.

April: Ok, SERIOUSLY. Why isn't it summer yet? [ Dead ]

Okay, so that may or may not be a little overdramatic, but I think you get it.

Last year, I had an awesome vacation to Jamaica that totally scratched my itch. Unfortunately, this year, due to new jobs and something about lack of vacation time, I have nothing. The best I can do is reminding myself that in two months, it will be May and that means almost summer.

Do you get the itch? How do you scratch it?

um, your take on the months here is TOTALLY perfect. And I thought it was just me:)

I get the itch but cannot justify spending the $$ on a beachy vaycay this year. Last year we went to California for some fun in the sun, this year I'm just going to grin and bear it. Not very fun, huh?

when winter gets to me i look forward to planning a get away. even if it's just for a long wknd, the planning part is half the fun. or just go to a mall and start trying on summer clothes. i like having something to look forward to to get me through these horrible winters.
